Eric Hall Scholarship Fund Recipients

Shakila Guevara and Dustin Atlas are award recipients of the Eric Hall Scholarship Fund award, sponsored by the Coastal Community Foundation. Both students recently meet with Eric. They were awarded the Eric Hall Scholarship in 2010 and 2011, respectively and both graduated from the San Dieguito High School Academy in the San Dieguito Union High School District. Shakila and Dustin credit the Academy’s unique curriculum structure, which lets them take 8 courses per year, for having developed their interests.

Shakila Guevara is an incoming Georgetown University student, with plans to study international business and finance.  She likes being part of the vibrant international and political climate of Georgetown and Washington, D.C. This summer, Shakila took two courses at Georgetown. Her business interests developed in high school, when she served on the school board and the Rotary Club.

Dustin is an architecture student at highly selective The Cooper Union in New York City. Last year, he was one of only 28 freshmen admitted to the architecture program. Dustin spends most of his days working in the studio, and will be an RA next year. His interest in architecture came from his grandfather, an architect who shared stories with him as a young boy.
